The Citadel strives to make career planning an integral part of our campus culture. Career planning and job search skills, like resume writing, behavioral-based interview techniques and salary negotiation are even embedded into our Leadership Development Program. Cadets have a minimum of six required career touch points throughout their academic careers. In addition to traditional career services support - like drop-in hours, career fairs and weekly recruiting events - supplementary career education is integrated into many academic departments. This proactive approach helps students learn to correlate early engagemnent to long-term success.

The Citadel consistently exceeds national averages for career outcomes. Over 80% of the South Carolina Corp of Cadets report professional employment, military or graduate school acceptance at graduation and over 90% success six months after graduation. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 6 month report shows "53.4% (of graduates) are in full-time positions, 17.5% are continuing education and over 16% report they are still searching."

Our Four Year Career Planning Timeline highlights our vision of exploration, preparation and engagement.
